Therapeutic bodywork since 1993.
Rooted in the Swedish Institute, New York.
Lana trained at the Swedish Institute in New York City — one of the oldest and most respected schools of massage therapy in the United States, founded in 1916. Her education there was thorough and clinically grounded: anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and hands-on technique across multiple modalities.
That training has been the foundation of more than thirty years of professional bodywork practice. It gave her a deep understanding of the body's structures and systems, and the confidence to work therapeutically rather than superficially. Everything she has learned since — through continued study, thousands of sessions, and cross-training across yoga and breathwork — builds on that original foundation.
Therapeutic, not decorative.
This is not spa massage. It is clinical, intentional bodywork — designed to address specific areas of tension, chronic holding patterns, restricted mobility, and the physical residue of stress. Lana draws on deep tissue technique, myofascial release, trigger point work, and Swedish massage, moving between modalities according to what she finds in each session.
She works slowly, with attention and pressure that is firm but never aggressive. Many clients come with issues that have not resolved through conventional physiotherapy or chiropractic work — patterns the body holds below the level of conscious awareness. Lana's approach is to listen with her hands, follow the tissue, and let the body guide the session as much as the client's words do.
Massage in this practice is not separate from the inner work or the breathwork. For clients who are engaged across multiple modalities, bodywork becomes part of a larger process — helping the nervous system integrate what deeper sessions uncover.
Three session lengths.
Focused therapeutic work on one or two specific areas — neck and shoulders, lower back, or a particular area of tension. Ideal for maintenance or targeted relief.
The most common session length. Allows enough time for full-body work with deeper attention to problem areas. Recommended for first-time clients.
Extended session for deep, unhurried bodywork. Particularly suited to clients working through chronic patterns, post-retreat integration, or those combining massage with breathwork.
Combined with other work.
Massage is often most effective when it sits alongside other practices. Many of Lana's clients combine regular bodywork with yoga, breathwork, or HeartMath sessions — creating a rhythm that supports the nervous system over time rather than addressing symptoms in isolation.
For clients undertaking deep inner work — past life regression or life between lives sessions — a massage beforehand can help the body settle, and a session afterwards can support integration. Lana is happy to advise on how to combine modalities in a way that makes sense for your situation.
